Spirit Handler Job Change
Follow the ruined-cart trail, help Chulho uncover the poisoned food and finish the Deep Forest story before accepting Hyunrok’s letter.
Pack for the whole quest
- Summoner, Base Level 200 and Job Level 60 or higher. Spend all skill points before the final promotion.
- Create or join a party for the Deep Forest quest instance. Prepare combat gear and healing supplies.
- Change to Spirit Handler and Symbol of Eden.

Accept the request in Payon
Read the Request Board and take the firewood request. Visit the Woodworker in northeast Payon and ask about the job. Finish his instructions before leaving town.

Speak to the Suspicious Light with your party ready. Create the Deep Forest instance, then choose its entry option. Inside, speak to Chulho and continue until the first hostile creature appears.

Open full mapDefeat the creatures blocking the forest path
In the instance, defeat the first “???” creature beside Chulho. Move north to the guards and ask them to let you through. Defeat the four Deep Forest Guardians that appear, then let the scene with Kisul finish.
These are quest encounters inside your instance. Follow its opened path north; ordinary field kills do not replace them.
Complete Hyunrok’s confrontation
Reach Hyunrok at the north end of the forest and finish the confrontation. Defeat all three hostile “??????” creatures when they appear. Wait for the concluding scene and the return to Payon’s field.
Do not leave the instance immediately after combat. The final dialogue sets the completed-forest state needed to receive the letter.
Read Hyunrok’s letter and become a Spirit Handler
Speak to Chulho at the Suspicious Light after the instance is complete. Read Hyunrok’s letter, then show it as requested. Spend any remaining skill points and finish the conversation to receive the Spirit Handler promotion and necklace.
