[Mana]

You're not ready for

any of the training I have

to offer. You'll have to train

some more and become

a Mage first. Alright, dear?

You know, sometimes

other jobs might look a

little better in some battle

situations, but always have

pride in yourself. Not just

anyone can do what you do~

Although I offer magic

training, it's not very helpful

if you're already experienced

in the use of magic. I'm sorry,

but you'll have to rely on your

own self to hone your skills.

Ah, welcome~

My name is Mana,

a trainer in charge

of new recruits in the

Mage Guild. That means

I'm responsible for you~

I've only been doing

this for just a little while,

but I'm here to help you if

you want to learn more on

the basics of the Mage job.

Of course!

And don't worry,

everyone is a beginner

at one point or another.

You can only get better!

Well, I guess

it'll all work out.

But I look forward

to meeting you again

if you decide that you

do want some instruction~

Alright, let's begin with

a general description

of our job, shall we?

What exactly are Mages?

Instead of physical strength,

Mages use the power of the

elements in battle. These are

Fire, Earth, Wind, Water.

We also have access to spells

to spells with the Ghost property.

Now, when an enemy has

an elemental property, it will

be able to resist that element, but will be susceptible to others.

That's why knowing elemental properties is so important to us.

Listen carefully to these

elemental relationships.

Fire is strong against Earth,

but is weak against Water.

Earth is strong against Wind,

but is weak against Fire.

Water is strong against

Fire, but weak against Wind.

Finally, Wind is strong against

Water, but weak against Earth.

I can't remember

the last time I've

spoken so much in one

sitting! I'm bushed, so it's

time for a break. But we'll

continue this later, okay?

Are you ready

to continue our

discussion on the

elemental properties?

You should know that

each monster has an

elemental property and that

there are different levels for

all of these elements. It's

important to understand this...

Let me explain to you

all of the nuances of

each element. Just ask

me which specific element

you'd like to learn more about.

In other words, even the same properties

have different features that must be considered.

I will explain the properties now.

Monsters with the Fire

property tend to have strong

attacks. Since we Mages are

physically weaker, even slight

hits from these monsters can

be extremely damaging to us.

So if we have to fight

monsters with the Fire

property on our own, we

can use Frost Diver to

freeze them in their tracks.

But if we use Fire

property skills on Fire

monsters, we'd do little to no

damage and that's not good.

For reference, our Fire

property skills are Sight,

Fire Bolt, Fire Ball and Fire

Wall. Ooh, let me tell you

a little more about Fire Wall.

Fire Wall is very distinctive

in that it can be used up to

3 times on one screen. Any

monsters that run into it will

get damaged, then move away

in the opposite direction.

But if an Undead monster

runs into a Fire Wall, it's

only slightly injured and the

Fire Wall won't necessarily

block its approach. So beware!

Alright, Earth property

monsters usually have

good targeting, so even

if your Dodge Rate is high,

you might find it hard to

evade all of their attacks.

When dealing with these

monsters, use Fire property

spells. Fire Wall is usually

pretty effective, since it'll

stop the monster and also

cause some good damage.

It's also handy to know

that when you use Stone

Curse on a monster, that

monster becomes Earth

property while the spell

is in effect. Cool, huh?

So if you use Stone Curse,

a good strategy would be to

use Fire property skills right

afterwards, like Fire Bolt and

Fire Ball, to take advantage of

the monster's Earth property.

Now, don't be too surprised

if you keep missing when you

attack Wind property monsters.

Most of them can avoid physical

attacks really well because of

their high Dodge Rates.

But since we Mages

mostly attack with our

spells, we don't need to

worry so much about that.

Still, Wind monsters tend to

be pretty quick, so be careful.

When it comes to attacking

Wind monsters, it'd be ideal

to use Earth property skills.

But since only Wizards have

access to Earth property attacks,

we should settle for Fire skills.

Fire property skills might

not do a whole lot of damage,

but they'll have a greater effect than Wind or Water property skills, which would do very little or no damage at all to Wind monsters.

Just so you know,

the Wind property skills

that we Mages can use are

Lighning Bolt and Thunder Storm.

Water property monsters

tend to have a lot of health,

so they can take more damage

than other monsters, making

battles with them longer.

Now, remember how I said

that there are differing levels

for properties? Water property monsters are actually a bit more

sensitive to damage from their opposing element at higher levels.

In other words, monsters

that are higher in level for

the Water property are going

to take even more damage

from Wind property attacks.

Water property skills

in the Mage's repertoire

include Cold Bolt and Frost

Diver. These skills are very

effective against Fire monsters.

Frost Diver is special in

that it has the chance to

actually freeze monsters.

While monsters are frozen by

Frost Diver, they're considered Water monsters. Interesting, huh?

Now, there aren't many

Ghost property monsters

around. But if you do run into

them, go ahead and use your

Ghost property skills, which

should be effective.

The Ghost property attacks

Napalm Beat and Soul Strike.

These skills generally tend

to work pretty well, except on

high Holy property monsters.

Now, the Safety Wall spell

is sort of a Ghost property

skill, but it's hard to classify. Casting Safety Wall creates

a barrier than protects against

close range physical attacks.

However, this barrier only

fits one person and doesn't

shield against long range

attacks or strong property

attacks, so be really careful!

Are you sure that you've

heard enough about the

nuances of the elemental

properties? Because if you're

ready, we'll cover some new

material for you to learn.

Alrighty, we'll

move on to the next

subject then. Ho ho ho~!

I know that the concept

of properties might be

confusing now, but over

time you'll get the hang

of it. Now it's time to talk

about magic skills in depth~

Now, the most basic magic

attack spells are Fire Bolt,

Cold Bolt, Lightning Bolt and

Napalm Beat. Learning these

enables Mages to learn their

more advanced skills.

Increasing the levels of

these skills not only opens

access to other spells, but

the damage of those basic

attack skills is also increased.

Other skills that are

basic to the Mage class

are Sight, Stone Curse and

Increase SP Recovery. They're

not really attack spells, but are useful in certain situations.

Sight is used to

reveal enemies that

are hiding. Keep in

mind that this skill's

range doesn't go too far.

Stone Curse has the chance

to curse a target, temporarily

immobilizing it and making it

Earth property. However, each

attempt to cast Stone Curse

requires 1 Red Gemstone.

Increase SP Recovery is

a passive skill which helps

you recover more SP while sitting down to rest. It doesn't directly affect battle, but having more SP is always better.

Well, I feel like I've

explained the basic spells

enough. Now, before I talk

about our advanced skills,

there's an assignment I want

you to complete for training.

If you head west from

here, you'll find a big bridge

bridge where you can encounter

these monsters called Pupa.

Pupa don't move and can't

attack to save their lives.

Hunt these Pupa

until you've collected

10 Chrysalis from them.

Then bring them to me, okay?

Ah, you're back?

Let's see if you gathered

all 10 Chrysalis from hunting

all of those Pupa. Hmmmm...

So...

Did you get

10 Chrysalis

from hunting Pupa

like I asked? I hope so...

Because I'm going to check~

Aw, you don't

have enough of

them yet. Head west

from here and hunt Pupa

to get more Chrysalis, okay?

For now, I'll just heal you up.

Whoa, you need

more than just this.

I know you can do it...

Pupas are completely

defenseless monsters!

...Nine, ten.

Alright, you pass!

By now, you must be more

used to using your skills, huh?

Anyway, let me know when you're ready for the next lesson, okay?

Now I'll tell you

what I know about the

more advanced Mage

skills. Which one would

you like me to explain?

Soul Strike is a Ghost

property skill that you can

learn after increasing the

Napalm Beat skill up to

a certain level. It attacks

with ancient spiritual power~

As you train in the use

of Soul Strike and increase

that skill's level, it will grow in strength and you'll be able

to cast it much more quickly.

You can learn Safety Wall

after training in the use of

Safety Wall protects against

most close range attacks.

However, Safety Wall

has a time duration and

can only protect from a

certain number of attacks,

depending on the level of the

Safety Wall skill that you use.

Fire Ball is a Fire

property skill that you

can learn after training

in the use of Fire Bolt.

Fire Ball can actually

inflict damage on multiple

enemies if they are within

the range of the skill. Make

good use of the destructive

power of the Fire Ball!

Frost Diver is a Water

property skill that can be

learned after increasing

the Cold Bolt skill to

a certain level.

Frost Diver will damage

enemies and has the chance

to freeze them as well. Once

frozen, the monster will be

considered to be a Water

property creature.

Now, as you increase

the level of the Frost Diver

skill, its damage and chance

of freezing monsters will also

increase. Pretty dangerous, eh? kamenriderblack

Thunderstorm is a

Wind property skill

that you can learn after

increasing the Lightning

Bolt skill to a certain level.

Thunderstorm is similar

to Fire Ball in that it can

attack multiple enemies

within a certain range.

It's an incredibly potent

ground targeting attack.

Fire Wall is a Fire

property skill that can

be learned after training

in the use of Fire Ball and

Sight. Unlike other skills,

Fire Wall targets an area.

So you can place

a Fire Wall in locations

where you think the enemy

will move towards. And it's

especially useful when

monsters approach you!

So if you can use

Fire Well strategically

and effectively, it can

be a very powerful skill~

Energy Coat is, well,

a unique skill that you

can't just learn on your own.

You'll have to ask Blizardis

inside the Mage Guild to

teach you how to use it.

If you do decide to

learn Energy Coat, I'm

sure Blizardis will tell

you all you need to know.

Did you understand

all of that? Good, because

now I have a mission to give

you on behalf of the Mage

Guild. When you're ready for

briefing, talk to me, okay?

Oh, and please take

this. It's a present for

you to help you in your

training. I hope it comes

in handy when fighting...

Oh good, you're back.

Let me tell you about

your mission. Recently,

something has happened in

Morocc and the Thief Guild

is requesting our assistance.

It's not mandatory

for you to do this, but

you will be compensated

for your efforts and we'll

give you some support.

So what do you think?

Great! Alright,

I'll send you straight

to Morocc, then. Once you

get there, go to the front

of the Morocc Pyramid and

speak to Yierhan. Thanks~

Oh, and when you're

done with what Yierhan

has you do, come back

and report to me, okay?

Mmm...?

Oh, I see. Well, if

you happen to change

your mind, come back

and ask me later, okay?

I don't know

what kind of work

Yierhan has in store

for you, but hopefully

it won't be too difficult.

Yierhan just sent me

a message, saying that

you've done a great job in

completing your mission.

Very nice work,

It seems like there are

two secret organizations

involved in all of this dirty

business. Why would they

be working together?

Well, in any case...

This is some pretty

major business that

I guess the higher-ups

will handle, so you don't

need to worry about it for now.

Please take this as

a little reward for helping

out both of our guilds. Once

again, thanks very much~

It looks like something is

going on in the Rune-Midgarts

Kingdom for sure. No wonder

all the guilds are so busy...

Anyway, please

keep up the good

work. And, um, is

Yierhan doing well?

You seem to be well

experienced now and there

isn't anything else that I can

really teach you. Now it's up

to you to find ways to master

the ways of magic on your own.
