Mage Job Change
Join the Mage Guild with the Pre-Renewal route, from registration to your final promotion.
Pack for the whole quest
- Novice at Job Level 10, with Basic Skill at Level 9.
- Spend your remaining skill points before requesting the promotion.
- Materials for your assigned solution only; see the recipe table below. A solvent costs 50 Zeny and one Empty Test Tube.
- Change to Mage.

Travel to Geffen and speak to the Mage Guildsman. Choose the job-change application and confirm that you want to become a Mage. Finish the conversation before moving on.

Porings drop Jellopy; Fabres drop Fluff. Buy Milk from a milk merchant. Recipes 1 and 3 need Payon Solution; recipe 4 needs Morocc Solution; recipe 2 needs no solvent.
For either solvent, bring one Empty Test Tube and 50 Zeny to its solution maker. Return to Geffen after collecting it.

Select the solvent, enter the exact counts of Jellopy, Fluff and Milk, then review the summary before pressing Mix. Enter the powder code and select the catalyst from your recipe row. The machine consumes your materials.
Take the finished solution back to the Mage Guildsman. If you receive an Unknown Solution, recheck the assigned number and every input, gather fresh ingredients and mix again.

Finish the promotion conversation with the guild NPC. Open your character window and confirm that your class is now Mage. Your new profession starts at Job Level 1; the quest is finished.
