Geneticist Job Change
Help Devries with the noisy laboratory, grow an altered seed and finish Demi’s spore-pen assignment.
Pack for the whole quest
- Alchemist or Biochemist, Base Level 99 and Job Level 50 or higher.
- Spend all remaining skill points before applying and before the final promotion.
- If you are still an ordinary second job, complete rebirth first to retain access to transcendent skills. Transcendent characters can train to Job Level 70 before changing.
- Bring a cart and learn Cart Revolution before the practical work.
- Leave inventory room and at least 200 free weight for the final rewards.
- Change to Geneticist and the job quest’s equipment rewards.

Accept the Union’s research referral
Speak to the Alchemist Union Member inside the guild and accept the Geneticist training. Use the offered route to the research laboratory, then introduce yourself to Devries.

After the noisy interruption, inspect the Delivery Box upstairs to obtain a cookie. Bring it to Devries and finish the introduction. Agree that you want to become a Geneticist and accept the plant experiment.

Open the Plant Guide and read its Plants section. Gather Bigibigi Grass, Muka Tree and Bogi Vine, choosing to use each as a material. These three samples improve the altered-seed result; the decorative plants do not.

Open full mapRun the experiment until you produce an Altered Seed
Use the Testing Table and conduct the experiment. Choose a preparation action, continue the heating/water/flask prompts until the seed selection appears, inject the mixture and select a testing seed.
The result depends on your collected plants, Job Level and chance; there is no guaranteed sequence of preparation menu choices. Bring the result to Devries. If it is an ordinary Experiment Seed, finish the failed-result dialogue, collect the three useful plants again and repeat the experiment until she accepts an Altered Seed.

After Devries accepts the seed, deliver her message to Demi Calberine. Search the Scattered Stuff points around Demi’s laboratory until she accepts your collection. Recheck the piles if a search yields nothing.

Report the parts to Demi and ask about the cart. She sends you into Devries’s spore pen. Kill 100 quest Poison Spores while the quest counter is active. Use Cart Revolution as instructed and remain until the count is complete.
If you leave early, ask Demi to send you back. Once the hunt is complete, report to Devries so she can confirm it.
