Rebirth: Become a High Novice
Prepare for rebirth, reach the Heart of Ymir and begin your original class path again as a High Novice.
Pack for the whole quest
- An eligible original second job at Base Level 99 and Job Level 50. Expanded classes do not use this rebirth route.
- 1,285,000 Zeny for Metheus Sylphe’s donation. After paying, arrive at Valkyrie with exactly 0 Zeny and 0 carried weight.
- Spend all skill points. Remove your cart, Falcon and mount; store equipment and weighted items.
Rebirth resets your Base and Job Levels and your stats and skills. The original second-job choice determines your future transcendent profession; rebirth does not switch your class branch.
- Rebirth as a High Novice, ready to train the same first-job path and then its transcendent class.

Prepare your character and donation
Reach Base 99 / Job 50 and spend every skill point. Store your equipment, release your Falcon and remove your mount and cart. Bring exactly 1,285,000 Zeny for the donation, plus only the travel money you will spend before reaching Valkyrie.
Pay Metheus Sylphe
Visit the library in Juno and speak to Metheus Sylphe. Donate 1,285,000 Zeny. Make sure your remaining balance is zero before the final rebirth conversation.

Walk north to the Book of Ymir and continue reading until the quest advances. Then head down into the library’s basement maze.

Follow the basement passages and portals until you reach the room containing the Heart of Ymir. The maze can send you through repeated rooms; keep taking the onward passages until you reach the heart chamber. Interact with the Heart to enter Valkyrie’s hall.

Walk to Valkyrie at the north end of the hall. She checks Base 99 / Job 50, zero weight, zero Zeny, no cart, no Falcon, no mount and no unspent skill points. Resolve any failed check before asking again.
Finish her explanation and accept rebirth. Your character becomes a High Novice; collect the starting equipment and begin training again.
